WATER CHALK

Today was a sunny but kind of cold day. I really enjoyed observing today because there was a practicum student with new and fresh ideas. She had a lesson plan based on the child's interest and it was also seasonal. I also observed how the teachers supported the practicum student. It is great because it shows how our mentors support us.

The child that I am observing for my DRDP initiated the water chalk activity. She started the activity on Wednesday and has worked on it till today. The chalk activity started next to the water table in the main playground. It continued through the sidewalk near the toddler playground gate.

One of the girls got an idea she said," Let's make foot prints." They walked on top of the water chalk on the cement and then walked  on the dry cement. The activity started with one student and then more children joined. One child told my observing child ," Hey what are you doing?" Observing child told him," I am painting." Peer asked her," Where's the chalk?" Observing chil said," I don't know." Peer went to the teacher. Teacher brought the tub of chalk to the area the children were working on. By the time it was time to go inside seven children were engaged in the activity and did not want to stop doing the activity. The child that I am observing for my DRDP would mix the colors. First she used the yellow chalk and then used blue chalk. She told her friend, " I am going to mix my colors."

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

This is the first semester I ever blog. It was very confusing for me. I started out good but then could not know log in my blog. It was really hard and complicated to complete my blog. I actually got the point of the blog until today. I guided my friend and taught her how to blog the first week of class and now in my last blog she is the one who taught me to do correctly.LOL.

But now that I found out you can add pitures and how to log in correctly it is fabulous. It is another way to conversate with our class peers and professor.

"KNOWLEDGE IS POWER"

I learned valuable knowledge in the lab. I would always write down the book the teacher would read during circle time. I would also write down quotes the teacher would use in the classroom. I would write down new activites I learned about. I think by just being in an observing student you get essetial knowledge and resources you can use when you take praticum and as a teacher. I learned new songs, new books, and new ideas that I would use as soon as I got back to my class. I also got to observe each child and each adult in the classroom.
